The London Challenge Residential Experience

The London Challenge project believes that every pupil should have the opportunity to take part in a residential experience or visit that will further their education.

This forms part of the London Challenge Student Pledge and in order to help achieve this, funding will be provided for New Views residential courses to broaden and enhance the opportunities for Key Stage 3 students.

How Can We Get Involved?

Welcome to Phase 6 of London Challenge New Views. All secondary schools in London have already had an opportunity to be involved in one or more of the earlier phases of London Challenge New Views. All schools that are eligible for funding in Phase 6 have already been contacted and informed of their grant.

What are the Benefits?

A residential experience can be very powerful in developing independence and self-organisation, and in building team relationships between young people and between them and adults. In a school context the relationships built can support the ethos of the school. The best way to explain the benefits of a residential experience is to let some of the staff, pupils and tutors involved in the previous courses speak for themselves.

What is New Views Funding?

New Views funding is part of the London Challenge Student Pledge to provide courses to extend the opportunities for Key Stage 3 pupils to take part in a residential experience or visit. All schools eligible for Phase 6 funding have been notified of the level of their London Challenge New Views grant. Courses are available on a first come first served basis, and funding can only be used to book a London Challenge New Views course as listed on this website.
